These cables provide extremely reliable connection from USB to the RJ45 (TTL serial) on the Skywatcher mount.
It is compatible with Sky-Watcher mounts that use the RJ45 connector, such as:
- EQ3 Pro
- EQ5 Pro
- HEQ5 Pro
- EQM-35 Pro
- AZ-EQ5 GT Pro
- AZ-EQ6 GT
- EQ6-R Pro
- EQ8
The cable is fully shielded and the RJ45 connector has a metal shell.
We have been using these on our rigs for a while and they have proved extremely reliable, even on the end of a 10m USB cable and USB hub.
Download the EQMOD software from >here< and some application such as APT or BackyardEOS (or Backyard Nikon) and you're good to go.
These cables use the CH340 chipset which has proven very reliable and the drivers are provided as standard with Windows 10, Mac OS and Linux so will be installed automatically when plugged in. Note that the COM port will stay the same if you always plug into the same USB port, but will change if you use different ports.
